Why you should rethink your conventional anti-antiperspirant or deodorant
Well for starters there are a lot of nasty ingredients in there that you may not know about because the company who makes your product doesn’t have to tell you. They get to hide behind this thing called “proprietary” which you know as “fragrance” or “parfum” and the beauty (for them) of this government approved protection is that the company who makes your product can put in numerous ingredients that are harmful to you, the workers who make the product and the environment. But since we don’t know what is hidden in your product let’s talk about what is not…….
TRICLOSAN….it can affect your hormones and there is a possible link to breast cancer
PHTHALATES….this one interferes with your body’s hormone function
PARABENS…they actually can mimic natural estrogen and disrupt your hormones
ALUMINUM…known for its ability to hinder sweat (sweating is what releases the toxins from your body) it disrupts the lymph nodes and has also been linked to Alzheimer’s.
PROPYLENE GLYCOL…It has been deemed dangerous but it seems low levels are OK (?). It irritates your skin (and yet it is put on one of more sensitive areas) and is known to cause allergic reactions
TEA and DEA...you may not see these listed because they can be hiding out under “fragrance” but they are ranked as possible toxic ingredients
FORMALDEHYDE…is a known carcinogen, yet you have been told not to worry as it is safe in small doses. Think about how many product you use in a day that may contain this ingredient and it is no longer a little dose…Do you want to take that chance?
